Throwback: 2009 Birthday Adventures!

I had a great day with my little family for my birthday! We went to one of my favorite places in Los Angeles, Abbot Kinney St. in Venice. It’s a hop, skip and a jump from the beach. It is just nice to breathe the ocean air and it’s such a creative and inspiring place to be. Earlier that morning, Chad had done his usual Monday 6:00 am weekly planning breakfast @ AROMA cafe, (one of our local spots @ moorpark and tujunga in studio city) and he brought me a fresh croissant for breakfast and a very sweet card from Portrait of a Bookstore, one of the best card places.

We then drove down to Venice and went to THREE SQUARE BAKERY and CAFE for lunch. It’s packed with locals who parked their cruiser bikes outside and has a very cool open modern decor. The food was delicious! We split their signature appetizer, Avocado Fries, which were quite tasty and also split their famous Pretzel Burger and Sandwich Sampler Plate. It was great, we will be back soon!

We then strolled arround the neighborhood, checking out shops and stealing ideas from antique and interior stores for our home. One of my favorite is BOUNTIFUL. It’s is an amazing antique store that could take you a day to go through, it is huge! It has beautiful pieces from all over the world.

Next we found a great new spot, NICE CREAM… Chad and I vote it “LA’s Best Gelato” It is made fresh every morning by the cutest european couple who opened the shop 3 months ago. It is worth the drive alone!

There are so many others spot’s to see down there these are just a few of them. Take a day and go enjoy a great little local spot!
